COME TO MY WORLD

 

This journey began when, a long time ago I first took camera in hand to take some pictures. It was a strong, powerful feeling and I must have appeared rather strange for the students of the documentary photography course of the Photojournalism – most of them half my age – when shortly after I enrolled in. 

I’ve seen the world through the lens of a camera and in the past more then 10 years, my constant drive for capturing the moment has become a life-defining force: a source of inspiration, self-growth and progress. Travelling the world from Persia to Peru, from India to Cuba wasn’t necessarily about only taking great travel photos though. It is about the time I spend with my camera, searching for those rare and special moments, when everything seems to stop and you know that you are as close to the eternity as possible.

Although ancient places can tell thousands of tales, I mostly feel this precious timelessness when I’m photographing people. It’s a very intimate process and though we might not speak each other’s language we even communicate. This experience has been forcing me forward to meet and to take pictures of people around the world from alleys of Havanna to the monasteries in Burma. And although the background changes, pictures, regardless of time and place draw an infinite map of shared human emotions.

It’s the journey that matters, they say, and I agree, but along the way I’m happy to share some of the most valuable moments I myself shared with people around the world.

 

Raymond Havasi is - as a multi awarded creative - one of the most well-known professional in the Hungarian marketing communication industry. Besides travelling the world for his photography projects, he taught ten years his own course at Budapest Metropolitan University. Currently he is Partner and Owner of the travel agency Angkor Tours, where Raymond is - as the Head of Marketing - responsible for the brand communication and the photo tours around the world.
